There have been jazz events in Kendal for decades but a decline in recent years prompted local enthusiasts to form a new club to ensure a regular programme.

The Brewery Arts Centre, the most favoured venue in days gone by, now presents cinema, professional theatre, dance, comedy. exhibitions and a variety of music including concerts by visiting international jazz artists.

In its endeavour to promote local musicians and special guests, the Kendal Jazz Club's programme had become increasingly adventurous and provided performing opportunities for bands from all over the UK.

In the informal atmosphere of the 'Malt Room' the club's monthly events were reuniting musicians with an audience ranging from jazz buffs to those seeking musical entertainment that didn't damage the ears!

Unfortunately our tenure at The Brewery was curtailed at the end of 2004.

BUT now we are happy to announce that as of the Wednesday 8th March we shall be presenting a similarly varied regular monthly event at The Riverside Hotel, Beezon Road, KENDAL.
